Monday 4/22/2013: Face of the day :)

Hi everyone! Happy Monday :) Here's this week Face of the Day.

Products used:
Clean and Clear Morning Glow moisturizer
MAC Fix+
Smashbox Photofinish face primer Light
Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in #160 "Fresh Beige"
NYX HD Photogenic concealor and Maybelline DREAM Lumi in radiant (for undereye concealor and highlight)
ELF Maximum coverage concealor in Nude (to cover blemishes)
Clinique redness solution loose powder
Sedona Lace eye primer
Shiseido Eyebrow compact in deep brown (used lighter shade)
Urban Decay Naked Palette in Sin, Sidecar, Naked, Buck, and Virgin.
Wet n Wild Mega liner in black
NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk
Covergirl Clump Crusher, Maybelline Cat Eyes and Mega plush for masacra
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Tarte Amazonian clay 12 hour blush in Tipsy
Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Coral Crush

I kept it pretty simple today. Used one whole palette for my eyes, and I felt like I didn't need too much coverage for my foundation. If you're looking for a lightweight foundation, I definitely reccomend the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. It's not a full coverage foundation, but the coverage is buildable.

I hope you guys enjoyed this look! Check back tomorrow for my favorite product this week!

Til Then, I love you all!

Happy Sunday! 4/21/2013

Hey all!

As we have come to the end of the week, let me tell you.... I am so happy this week is over!

I had a pretty busy week. This was my first full week being back in NOVA, so that meant workworkwork. As most of you know, I work for the lovely Starbucks Corporation. Being this be my first week back, I had a bunch of my regulars tell me that they missed me. It was nice :) I felt loved! But, this also meant I was back to working my 30+ hours a week. But, unfortunately, I was working overtime! Covering shifts, staying longer than needed, and working at other stores. Today after a long shift, I came home, and passed out! I'm definitely glad I have a day off tomorrow!!

It wasn't all too bad though. My gym had a BBQ/Luau Party! It was totally fun! I came in about an hour later than it started, because you know, I like to be "fashionably late". Ate some great food, drank so delicious beer, and socialized with the people I have the pleasure to work out with on a daily bases. They had set up a photo booth for us to take pictures with each other. And let me tell you, mix Crossfitters with beer and a photo booth, and it's a total blast. I wished I had the pictures, but I would imagine there were at least 2,000+ photos!

Things Beauty related, I really didn't have too much of an exciting week. I didn't buy anything knew, even though the Sephora and Ulta sales were calling my name! Since I was on a unpaid vacation leave, I didn't get paid for the time I was gone. Which was a week and a half worth of not working :( But, stayed tune for new products to be added to my collection!

That's about all for my weekly wrap up! I hope everyone had a great past week, and lets begin a new and exciting week!! Come Back tomorrow for a Face [makeup] of the day.

Til Then, I love you all!

Hey Beauties! Since it's finally starting to feel like spring, I thought that pink was the ish for this week.

Excuse the poorly painted, oddly uneven shaped nails :(

I first used China Glaze's #872 "Pool Party", and applied 3 coats. Then after waiting for them to dry, I used NYC's #105 "Starry Silver Glitter" and applied one thin layer on one side of my nails. Then topped it off with my favorite top coat, Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Base and Top Coat!

I hope you guys enjoyed this look for this week! Check back tomorrow for the weekly wrap up!

Til then, I love you all <3

Thursday 4/18/2013: Bad Product of the week!

Hello beauties!

Now, I just wanted to start off by giving you a rough schedule on when I post certain topics.

Monday - Face of the Day!
Tuesday - Favorite Product of the week.
Wednesday -  Daytime Eye Makeup of the week.
Thursday - Bad Product of the Week.
Friday - Nighttime Eye Makeup of the Week.
Saturday - Nails of the Week.
Sunday - Weekly wrap up.

Every 2 weeks, I will have a new "First Impressions" where I will talk about one new beauty product I purchased recently, and try it out for the first time. I will also be doing Monthly favorites on the first day of the new month. If I have a day where I bought some new beauty products, I will publish "Hauls"!!

Now onward to the Bad Product of the week.

(I just want to note this before I talk about this bad product. I am in no way "dissing" these products. It may work for you, or someone you know. I am posting my opinion on this particular product.)

2 weeks ago, I was in Indiana visiting my boyfriend. Since they don't have a mall nearby, that meant there were NO Sephoras, or ULTAs. I needed to buy a new undereye highlight because I had left my Maybelline Magic Lumi highlight concealor back home! So, we ran to the local Walmart, and I jetted straight to the makeup section (like I always do!). My intentions were to pick up another one of the Maybelline highlight concealors, but I had spotted the one ALL of the beauty gurus have been talking about lately...

(Left: First Application. Right: Blended.)

The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser for Dark Circles. This concealor is specially made for people who have dark circles and it wont settle into your fine lines (or otherwords, wrinkles).

Now, I don't know if it's just me, but I hate this. The consistancy is so thin! I mean, thicker concealors settle into fine lines, but I wish this was thicker. The applicator sucks. Its spongey, and barely gives you any product at all. I applyed this over my Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealor to even out the thickness and add highlight. After about 30 minutes after I applyed all of my makeup, I went to check my face in the mirror. I was horrified! There were streaks under my eyes! I immediately had to even it out, but it didn't make it any better...

Maybe (JUST MAYBE), I got a defected item. I'm not all for returning my purchases, but I wish I did. I'm hoping to make this work somehow. I'm doing a bunch of tests with different concealors I have, but honestly, none have worked so far. I will keep you guys updated!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading today's Bad Product of the week.

Check back tomorrow for the very first Nighttime Eye Makeup of the week!

Til then, I love you all!!!

Wednesday 4/17/2013: Bright Blue smokey Eyes!

I posted this picture up on instagram of my eye makeup today.

(More close up look)

What products did I use?
ELF eye primer
Urban Decay e/s in Shattered (Inner corner of lid)
ELF e/s in a bright dark blue (as transition color on outer lid)
LORAC Pro Palette e/s in Slate (outer v and worked into crease)
Urban Decay Naked Basics palette in Venus (Highlight on brow bone)
Lancome Artliner in Noir
Wet n Wild liquid eyeliner in Black (for wing)
Cover Girl's Clump crusher in Black
Maybelline One by One and Cat Eyes (both black)

Make sure once you place SLATE in the outer v of your eye, that you blend, blend, blend! I used my E40 Tapered blending brush (By Sigma Beauty) to blend out the slate color to avoid harsh lines.

What's on the rest of my face?!
Clean and Clear Morning Glow moisturizer
Smashbox Photofinish Primer in light
Revlon's Nearly Naked foundation in #160 "Fresh Beige"
ELF Maximum coverage concealor in Nude (To cover blemishes)
NYX HD Photogenic concealor in Beige (undereye)
Maybelline Magic Lumi Highlighting concealor in Radiant (to highlight)
ELF undereye setting powder
Benefit Hoola bronzer
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush in Tipsy
Loreal lipstick in fairest nude
NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu

I hope you guys like this look, and leave a comment down below! Come back tomorrw, and I'll show you the products I regret buying! :(

I love you all!

Welcome!

Hi beautiful people! My name is An. I created this blog to launch my passion for make up artistry and all things beauty related. I will be posting every day with different set catagories for each day. Stay tuned for that schedule once I figure that out :)

In the meantime, let me tell you about myself!

I am 21 years old, turning 22 next month (May 23). I currently live at home with my parents, and my 3 dogs, whom are my baby boys! I am a student, but am not currently attending at the moment, as I am in the process in applying for beauty school/makeup school. I am also a crossfitter. I have been doing Crossfit for 10 months! I have been in the best shape in my life than ever before. I love Crossfit, and everything about it. From olympic lifting, to running with rucksacks, and tearing my hands on pull ups! I do have boyfriend of 2 and a half years, and his name is Duane. :) He is the love of my life, but we are currently in a long distance relationship due to some personal issues he is dealing with. I am grateful to have him in my life, and I wouldn't trade it for the world <3 I currently work as a barista/barista trainer at a very well known coffee shop called Starbucks to make ends meat, or to provide my makeup addiction!

I discovered makeup when I was about 11 years old. My mother used to use eyeliner all the time, and I always thought she looked gorgeous! So I asked her to put some on my eyes. When she did, I was amazed on how different I looked. But since I was 11, I wasn't allowed to wear it. After puberty, I started to wear black eyeliner. Black eyeliner was my "go-to" look for everyday.

(Me on the left. Age 14)

My love for makeup, and collecting makeup didn't really launch until last year. My friend at the time showed me a makeup tutorial by Nicole Guerriero (Of Youtube; nguerriero19). I thought she was gorgeous! I started to search make up tutorials and trying on different looks with the little makeup products I did have. As time went on, I now have [what I call] a HUGE collection! I love wearing makeup. I love that I can use my face to express my art and my passion for it.

(Me today =D)

I was convinced by one of my good friends (who happens to love beauty/makeup as well) to start sharing my make up looks. So, thats where this blog comes in! I really hope you guys enjoy I post. I plan to post everything from eye makeup looks, to reviews, swatches, and first impressions.

In the mean time, please follow me on instagram, @aanvuu and on tumblr, @starbucksandcrossfit.

I love you all!
